Vallesinella- Madonna di Campiglio

A short distance from Madonna di Campiglio the lower part of the valley is covered by dense woods. The upper part on the other hand has clear traces of glacial action, as borne out by the vedrette or hanging glaciers: the two Vallesinella glaciers and the Tuckett and Brenta Superiore glaciers. The River Sarca di Vallesinella flows through the valley and forms three famous waterfalls (upper, middle and lower). The numerous caves are evidence of the karst morphology of the valley. The valley itself runs from west to east and is bounded by the Croz dei Casinei, Cima Fridolin, Torrione di Vallesinella and Castelletto Inferiore peaks. It offers access to the Casinei and Tuckett refuges and is linked to the Brenta Valley across the Sella del Fridolin saddle (Casinei Pass) or, higher up, with the Sosat path which provides support for hikers.
