Men on their part would cut trees and firewood. The big trunks were cut by hand with big saws, they were barked  and then brought down-valley along  special paths, called “tovi”.
These paths, which were often artificially-made, led to work places in the woods and high in the pastures and were used to transport products: trunks, dry leaves for the bedding of domestic animals (the so-called farlet) and then tree branches used to support bean-plants.
Over the past years all these activities have undergone inevitable changes and many have been completely given up.
We, as heirs to those difficult times, have the duty to pay respect to the environment, for it to be preserved.
