THE PRADEL TABLELAND AND THE ADAMELLO-BRENTA NATURE PARK
|
In addition to representing the gateway to the Brenta, thanks to its proximity to the Altissimo-Gallino peaks and to all the refuges in the central part of the Brenta Dolomites, the Pradel tableland in winter offers a wide range of activities and excursions in the snow. The cable car that comes up from Molveno covers a difference in height of 500 metres in just a few minutes. A chair-lift then goes up to the Tovre tableland at 1,540 metres, a short distance from the Montanara Refuge |

The
Pradel piste – many children have learnt to ski on this ski run |
An enjoyable ski run with excellent views links the various refuges. Thanks to the fact that it faces south and is sheltered from the wind, this piste is also suitable for children. Unfortunately the lack of facilities for creating manmade snow means that it is not always possible to ski here throughout the whole season. The Pradel tableland is linked to the small towns of Molveno and Andalo by a forestry road which runs through a wood. A memorable experience for adults and children alike, albeit one to be approached with all due care, is to try tobogganing down these routes. |

In
winter the high altitude itineraries in the Adamello Brenta Nature Park
are recommended only for very fit, expert hikers and when conditions are
good. However, some of the itineraries are not particularly demanding, for
example the climb up to the Croz
Altissimo Refuge along the Seghe Valley and the climb up to the Malga
Andalo Refuge following the forestry road which starts at the Baita
Fortini Alpine hut. |
